Bump Buddies has been created to give mothers to be that extra bit of support during the most important time of their lives.

It could be personal in the form of advice, finding out what to expect, help getting the birth you want, someone to moan at or someone to have a laugh & chat with at any time of the day. Or it could be practical help getting ready for baby, labour and birth support or postnatal help settling with the new baby.

If there's something where we can't help you directly we will find the person that can!

If you are struggling to get onto antenatal classes on Teesside/North Yorks/County Durham through Surestart, Parentcraft or NCT contact us!!!  We provide personal antenatal sessions in your own home at a time convenient to you.  It's friendly, relaxed and down to earth with continuing text/email support beyond the sessions for as long as you need.  Feedback from previous clients has all been extremely positive (see testimonials).

Our Doula Louise & her daughter Evie

A Doula is a woman who provides sustained physical, emotional and informational support during labour, birth and the early days of parenthood. The role of the Doula is probably as old as women giving birth.

Doulas may specialise in supporting women through pregnancy, labour and birth (Birth doulas), or in the time shortly after birth (Postnatal doulas), or they may work in both areas.  Doulas are not medical professionals and do not perform clinical tasks, diagnose medical conditions, or give medical advice.

Our Doula is a trainee with Nurturing Birth, registered with Doula UK, and is a trainee antenatal teacher with the National Childbirth Trust.

Birth - We can help prepare and support first time parents, VBACs, Home births, HBACs and those that want to have an active/natural birth in hospital.

**FULLY BOOKED FOR BIRTHS IN 2010 SORRY.... - STILL AVAILABLE - ANTENATAL & POSTNATAL SUPPORT**

About Antenatal Support header

Beyond the traditional Doula support we also offer antenatal sessions.

The sessions are personally tailored towards the needs of the parents and the birth they envisage.  We cover all aspects from what to expect in pregnancy (early antenatal sessions), preparing for labour and birth, be it in hospital, birth centre or at home, postnatal issues such as feeding - bottle or breast, nappies, sleep issues and what else to expect.  The sessions are down to earth, relaxed and even fun!  This is ideal for anyone who cannot access antenatal courses in their area.  Antenatal clients get full support 24hrs a day by text/email for any questions or worries right through the first weeks & months after birth.

Postnatal

Bookable separate from antenatal/birth services.  Postnatal services include support for feeding, "restructuring" your life with your new addition, light housework, shopping, chores (ie bill paying, dry cleaning etc), baby minding, playing with siblings etc.  Postnatal service is geared around whatever we can do to relieve the stress of adapting to the life change.  It is bookable by the hour or day and can be arranged before or after the birth. Postnatal support can help prevent postnatal depression by taking away some of the pressure.
